Rescue Me ID: 16-12-01-00066Georgia (female)

Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Health: Vaccinations Current

Meet Georgia! She is a beautiful female pom that is just happy as can be. Georgia was saved from being euthanized the same day her and her two brothers were surrendered to a local shelter. We were able to save all three, but only Georgia is ready for her forever home. This girl LOVES people! She is estimated at 6-8 years old and although she does not look it, she does weigh 18 pounds. Georgia is house trained to go outside and use a pee pad by the door. She is crate trained, leash trained, and motivated by treats. Georgia will be spayed, have a dental, and have a small growth removed from her right eye on December 7th and then she ... (Read More)will be ready for her forever home. She is healthy overall and gets along with most dogs, but can be a little selective when a new dog comes into the home she is established in. Her selectiveness is very manageable as a bold 'Georgia NO!' corrects her quickly. Georgia is just a loyal loving girl that would even do well in a home with respectful children. To adopt Georgia, please submit an application at PomPaws.org. Her $250 adoption fee ($150 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), spay, heartworm/lyme test, microchip, dental cleaning, lump removal, and all the love you can handle.     Do you like my name? I sure do! Its pronounced um-ell-ee. I don't believe in living in the past, so all I will say is mine was not so good. I try to forget and my rescuers don't know, so that made it much easier for me to break free from it. It all came to a head when I was surrendered to a shelter and needed lifesaving pyometra surgery. That's enough about then‰'Û|let me tell you about now. I had surgery the day after I arrived at the shelter and a kind volunteer contacted some rescues because she didn't want me coming back to the cold shelter floor. I had a nice, warm bed to sleep in at Pawsitively Pom Rescue before the day was ... (Read More)over. I was sore and painful when I got there. They gave me good food, some water and meds, a big round comfy bed, and a cozy pen so I could rest peacefully. They wanted to give me love, but I really didn't know the meaning of the word. When they approached and sat in my pen with me, I flashed my warning look. I didn't know these people‰'Û|in fact, I didn't really know people at all...let alone what a kind hand was. So whatever the lady was offering, I wasn't having it. I spent the two weeks recuperating...watching‰'Û|listening. There were many other dogs in this rescue and they all seemed to love this lady. But let me tell you, I did not! I didn't know her...didn't trust her...and wasn't letting her or any dog get within a foot of me. She was really persistent and I guess I'm too ladylike for my own bite as she wasn't fazed by it one bit. So the days passed and I watched all these dogs being petted and talked so sweetly to. So I decided to give her a try, but I let her know quickly that her hand must not go below my head. The next day, I realized how good a back scratch is. From there, I realized love has no bounds. For the next chapter of my life, I would like a home without kids. I think I would actually like someone to call my very own. I am about 8 years old they say and I like the number 8. It is the symbol of harmony and balance...turn it sideways and it stands for infinity. You give me harmony and balance and I will repay you with infinite love and affection. I weigh about 13 pounds. The doctors have given me vaccines, ensured I was free of parasites and diseases, and implanted a microchip. Of course, I am spayed and I will have my teeth cleaned in the very near future. I have completely housetrained. I LOVE LOVE LOVE big, snuggly dog beds. I also like those human beds too! I'm not completely used to this awesome food I get, so stand back at feeding time‰'Û|.because I'm all over it!! I've learned that other small dogs are not a threat and I can co-exist with them. Who knows‰'Û|maybe one day I will even play. It's all a new world for me and I'm ready for you to guide me through it. Today, I have labeled myself a lover of love. Pet me‰'Û|talk to me‰'Û|walk with me‰'Û|and I will be your friend til the end!! Be slow‰'Û|be patient‰'Û|be understanding‰'Û|and I will give you complete unconditional love. I have been rescued‰'Û|now let me rescue you!! To adopt Amelie, please submit an application at PomPaws.org. Her $250 adoption fee ($150 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), spay, heartworm/lyme test, microchip, recent dental cleaning, and all the love you can handle. Rescue Me ID: 16-05-27-00349Chewy (male)

Pomeranian    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hey guys...my name is Chewy and you know what they say about Dynomite?! It comes in small packages...just like all 6 pounds of me!! They say I'm an old fart, but I say who's counting!! They say I'm 12 or 13 and I say that's better than 80 or 90! Hmph...the nerve. Let me tell you a little about me. I used to live in Wisconsin and then my owner, who didn't take the best care of me, posted me for free on Craigslist. Can you imagine me...on Craigslist. Oh the nerve!! Some lady named Karen came and saved me before I ended up as lunchmeat. She said I was in really bad shape, but I was so happy to be away from my crappy owner that I ... (Read More)was jumping for joy...so much so that I knock a canine tooth out when I jumped off the couch. It didn't hurt, but Miss Karen was worried because it left a hole straight into my nasal cavity. She then told me she knew what she had to do...then told me the story of rescue. I then made my way to Pawsitively Pom Rescue in PA and they knew what to do to get me better. It took a really long time since I was in such bad shape. After I was healthy enough to have surgery, they took me to a special dentist. He pulled all my teeth and fixed not 1, but 2 holes in my mouth. Then these people took my manhood! Hmph...really?! Well, I didn't miss them too much, but I sure do miss my teeth! See, I'm feisty and I like to make sure all other animals know that I own everything in the house. I will tell them about themselves if they try to so much as touch a toy, lay on my loveseat, or get to the treats before me. I also like to eat my food, then I will eat other dogs' food, then I will pee on whatever is left...HaHaha! They say I am housebroken, but I also like to let the other dogs know that I own everything in the house by marking my territory. My foster mama doesn't worry about the damage my toothless butt will do, but she always has one eye on how the other dogs will react. So, she says I need a home without any other animals. I also am the biggest lover you will find this side of California!! I will be your best friend and love you til the cows come home. So my foster mama says I should be adopted by someone who is home more than not. That's who I am in a nutshell, now let's discuss my medical history. As I said, I have no teeth so you don't have to worry about dental bills. I have a grade 2 of 6 heart murmur, but my age will likely catch up to me before my heart ever does. I also have Alopecia, or black skin disease, where I'm missing A LOT of hair on my torso. My foster mama says you should be prepared to provide Levicrine (thyroid meds for my hypothyroidism) and buy me lots of warm clothes to keep my butt warm in the winter. I say at least I have more hair than I did because most men my age are losing theirs! Hmph...some people! My biggest problem has been chronic bronchitis, collapsing trachea, and lung disease with two pulmonary bullae. Those are air filled sacs in my lungs, which will likely never amount to anything. I do, however, have the notorious Pommy cough. So my foster mama says you should be prepared to keep stock in Torbutrol (cough med), Theophylline (bronchodilator), and a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement to help strengthen the cartilage in my trachea. She also gives me Zyrtec, although I'm not sure it really does anything. She said I need to live in a clean home with an air purifier(s) and without any carpet. She knows I like to rub my nose in the carpet from one end of the house to the other after a walk and it seriously aggravates my lung condition. I say she's just a worry wart, but she does know what's best. I've been in rescue for a year, but that's because my foster mama couldn't give me up after my first adoption failed. She said I liked the carpet too much. I say...what's an old man to do for fun! Hmph...I'm not an old, old fart...I could live for years!!! But I know my foster mama loves me and she wants to have someone who has more time to spoil me...more than I already am of course. So, she also says, that I have to go to a home in the southcentral PA area. Do you need a baby to love and spoil...albeit a feisty, funny one?? Then what are you waiting for??? My adoption fee is $250 ($150 for senior citizens 65+) and includes my neuter, dental, vaccinations, heartworm/lyme and fecal tests, and microchip. Apply at PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Ask for me....Chewy....Chewy for President I say!!! (Less)

Pomeranian    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Peyton and Riley go together like peas and carrots and stick together like two peas in a pod!! These two have been together their entire lives and may even be father and daughter. They are very much bonded and must be adopted together. We rushed in to rescue these precious Pommys when their owner posted them on Craiglist with the possibility of Peyton being pregnant, as we didn't want them to fall into the wrong hands. A month later Peyton went into heat and we couldn't be more happier that she wasn't subjected to bearing another litter of pups. A FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED TO ADOPT PEYTON AND RILEY, AS WELL AS A HOME WITHOUT YOUNG ... (Read More)CHILDREN/GRANDCHILDREN. NO EXCEPTIONS. Both have the sweetest dispositions, but were obviously not socialized or cared for much in their previous home. They need a quiet home and someone willing to help them work through their fears of this world. It's very easy to see that they both want to break free of the mental anguish that binds them, they just need that patient, caring person to get them over the hurdle. Peyton is approx. 4 years old and weighs 8 pounds while Riley is approx. 5 years old and weighs 12 lbs. Both are kind, gentle and very quiet; however, Peyton does get very excited when you first come home and will bark for a few minutes to let you know how happy she is to see you. Peyton is afraid of steps and will need carried up/down while Riley does them like a pro. Both love the outdoors and a quiet, corner to lay in when indoors. They have come so far with housetraining, but still require patience and consistency. Riley also had a ruptured disc repaired in the middle of his back, which was surgically corrected and needs no further attention. He was also diagnosed with an auto inflammatory disease, which requires one pill twice daily to keep him pain free. He is also taking Prednisone daily and should be able to wean off this summer...this is part of the treatment plan for the auto inflammatory disease. Do not let this disease frighten you or scare you away as it is very easily managed with one pill morning and night. Peyton and Riley are both crate trained, current on vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), spayed and neutered, microchipped, and have had bloodwork, fecal and heartworm tests, and dentals. Riley has also seen a board-certified neurologist and has been MRI'd from head to toe with two spinal taps. To adopt these special Pommys, submit on online application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Their adoption fee is $200/each (discounted to $150/each for senior citizens 65+). (Less)

Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Truffle is a 7-year-old male Pomeranian and weighs 12 pounds. He lived with his original owners his entire life and came to us after their divorce. He knows quite a few commands and loves to turn in circles for treats. He does have a few quirks that are easily manageable: he can be toy aggressive with other dogs, but that seemed to diminish after the first week or two; he's not the biggest fan of brushing/grooming, so we simply take him to the groomer once a month; he will bolt out the door if given the chance, but a firm 'sit and stay' command does the trick; and he needs a refresher in proper potty habits when he first comes into a ... (Read More)new home. Truffle would do best in a home without cats as we are told he caught a squirrel once and it didn't go so well for the poor squirrel. He looks for guidance and loves to please. Truffle is neutered, up-to-date on rabies, parvo/distemper, and bordatella vaccines, microchipped, has been dewormed, fecal and heartworm/lyme/erlichia/ and anaplasmosis tested, and has been started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative. His adoption donation is $250. If you are interested in adopting Truffle, please visit our website at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org for an application. (Less)

Zander is a beautiful red Pomeranian who is a laid back kind a guy!! He is 9.5 years old, weighs 13.5 pounds, and is completely housetrained. Zander has taken some time to rehabilitate as he came to us as an aggressive biter. He has reached the point where there is no aggressive tendencies, except if bathing, brushing, or clipping. He is a great dog and is waiting for that special someone who is willing to reach that mutual understanding with him and take him to the groomer to avoid any issues.
